Reports on NHS complaints handling
We have published two reports about complaints in the NHS. One reports the findings of our audit of complaints handling by 42 NHS trusts and provides conclusions and recommendations that all trusts can learn from . The second is a report on our first two years as an independent reviewer, and looks at the key themes that emerged from second-stage complaints about the NHS.

Complaints about independent healthcare services
We check that independent healthcare providers have a clear procedure in place for dealing with complaints about their services and that they respond to complaints within an appropriate time. If you have been through a provider’s complaints procedure and are unhappy with the outcome of your complaint, or if it appears that a provider is not meeting a particular standard, we may be able to help.
